In the past few years, we have seen many decisive battles between some of the world’s biggest electronics giants. These battles were not fought in the battlefields, instead they were fought in the courts. These battles were in the form of lawsuits. The loss in most of these battles was the loss of huge amount of money.

This money was paid by one company to the other. Some of these biggest battles were between the world’s renowned companies Apple and Samsung, who were on the verge of putting an end to each other’s business.

These lawsuits, as we have seen at many different occasions, resulted in settlement by paying money. The reason behind these lawsuits was very simple - use of patented technology by someone who did not pay for it.

In the most recent case, Samsung has lost a patent war against a small company. The claim of this small company was that Samsung has used Bluetooth design that was patented by this company but not invented by this company. The amount that the court has asked Samsung to pay to this little company for patents is $15.7 Million and all this for doing nothing. Yes, you read it right - nothing.
