Access the Notification Shade Using Fingerprint Sensor

If you are already a Galaxy S8 user you should probably know that the fingerprint sensor on Galaxy S8 is placed at the back, next to the camera. Besides unlocking the device, the fingerprint sensor has a lot more features to offer that are not set by default.

The sensor supports gestures which can open and close the notification shade. Swiping down on the sensor leads to opening the notification shade and swiping up leads to closing the shade. This feature is disabled by default however you can find it in the Settings menu.

You can enable it by following the next steps:

Step 1: Open the Settings app from the app drawer or by tapping on the gear icon in the notification shade.

Step 2: Tap on Advanced Features followed by Finger sensor gestures.
