From a tragedy, some loose and some gain. Sales of the latest Apple iPhone 7 are doubled in South Korea. Mainly this is happening because the absence of its key rival, the Galaxy Note 7 which was permanently pulled from production due to safety concerns.
After the official launch 21st October of the iPhone 7 in Korea, is estimated that more than 200.000 units are sold. Professionals predict an even bigger number of sales by the end of the month with around 300.000 units sold.
“The supply situation is much better compared to that of its predecessor iPhone 6,” said an official of a local telecom carrier. This was referred to Apple’s usual early supply constraints.
“Except the hot-selling Jet Black model, there is no waiting for other models.”
Around 300.000 customers have booked the new iPhone during the preorder period which was from 14th to 20th October.
In the meantime, Samsung offered 50 percent discount on the Note 7 owner’s monthly payment plans if they purchase a Galaxy S8 or Note 8 next year.
