Microsoft announced today its big plan to take over Nokia’s mobile business and license it’s patents for $7.2 billion. Along with that announcement Microsoft also made it clear that it will work with other Windows phone manufacturers. But it looks like mobile phone companies like Samsung and HTC are not too happy with this deal.
A Samsung representative said that, regarding the Microsoft-Nokia acquisition, its official statement is, “Decline to comment.”
That was essentially the same response that HTC gave AllThingsD on Tuesday.
“We are assessing the situation and have no comment at this time,” a HTC representative said.
Does this mean Samsung will distant itself from Windows 8 platform or it will continue to build mobile phones based on Windows?
