Samsung Offers Free 4K HDR Movies with TV Promotion On August 16

August 16th Samsung in conjunction with Western Digital WDC and Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment will be introducing a new promotion for its buyers. The company will basically be entitling buyers of high-end SUHD TVs to two free 4K UHD and High Dynamic Range films.

Well the buyers need to be careful as the promotion only applies to the JS9000, JS9500 and JS9100 SUHD TV series. Moreover the two 4K HDR films that are included in the promotion are The Maze Runner and Ridley Scott’s Exodus: Gods and Kings.

Both the titles will come preloaded on a new WD My Passport Cinema hard drive along with six other 4K UHD films that will be viewable only if the users pay Twentieth Century Fox to unlock them.

These six movies include X-Men: Days of the Future Past, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, the Wolverine, The Other Woman, The Fault in Our Stars and Let’s Be Cops. Apart from this the 1TB My Passport Cinema UHD drive is also available outside the Samsung SUHD promotion at a cost of $90.

Now once the users have unlocked a title on My Passport Cinema Drive they will be able to watch it online or offline and the users don’t even have to maintain a permanent internet connection.

In order to unlock users simply need to connect the drive to a UHD TV compatible with VIDITY and then authorize the purchase from the Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment website.

The best part of the My Passport Cinema Drive is obviously that it means users no longer need a super-fast broadband connection to enjoy the 4K UHD content. This also gives hope that the picture quality of the My passport Cinema drive movies will exceed what the users are seeing currently.

Danny Kaye the Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment’s EVP, global research and technology strategy stated that there main focus is on developing the highest quality consumer experience possible.
