Samsung to invest $1 billion on Artificial Intelligence

The Korean giant company, Samsung, may be investing $1 billion into acquisition of AI companies. Another anonymous source from the USA branch of Samsung said that they even may inject more money into that funding. The fund could also be invested on purchasing stakes in AI companies.

The latest investment of Samsung which was related to this was made in October. It was founded by developers who worked on Apple’s smart assistant Siri. Viv Labs also announced Bixby, that could be the next possible AI that will come with the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus. The company is looking to invent on something that could be aware of its surroundings, creating an ecosystem and that would act as a selling point of its Android flagships. The company’s major though, is keen on continuing with the great success and not to repeat the mistakes of the past.

Taken as a consideration, it is not that surprisingly that Samsung may consider making more investments into the AI sector. The company is also working on a competitor to Amazon’s Echo and Google Home called Samsung Hello.
