With months left for Xaomi’s mi 5 to launch, the battle for the mid ranged smartphone crown is between the galaxy A9 and HTC one X9. both of the devices feature the best of what their respective companies have to offer and are premium phones with sub-premium price. But which one will win to get into your hands.
First let’s take a look at the specs. The A9 features a 6 inch AMOLED display with 1080p resolution whereas the X9 has the same resolution on a 5.5-inch screen. Both offer good viewing angles. The 3 gb of ram and 32 gb of internal memory are identical along with expandable storage via micro SD card slot.
The battery capacities are at 3000mah for the X9 and 4000 mah for the A9. Remember that the A9 has a power hungry 6-inch screen compared to the 5.5 one on the X9. The battery life will more or less be the same.
But the camera division is where the differentiation takes place with Samsung winning this segment with excellent 13 MP camera and 8 MP one in the front. The specs are similar on the X9 with 5 MP one on the front. HTC generally has a bad history with smartphone camera.
The A9 is powered by the octa-core snapdragon 625 whereas the X9 houses a mediatek processor.
Personally I would choose the galaxy A9, here are the reasons why.
There is a fingerprint sensor in the galaxy A9 and it enables Samsung’s excellent mobile payment service, Samsung pay and its security work software, Samsung Knox. Agreed that HTC generally updates its phone to newer version of android quicker than Samsung but the galaxy A9 provides more bang for the buck than the X9.
While both the phone feature metal design and looked beautiful, the galaxy A9 looked even better with its glass and metal design.
