One main thing that many consumers consider when buying a smartphone is its durability. Recently the Galaxy S6 and iPhone 6 underwent a brutal drop test. Plus many of you will be surprised of the results at the end of this drop test.
Even though the iPhone 6 is made of aluminum and Samsung’s new Galaxy S6 edge is mostly made of glass along with a chamfered metal frame that keeps everything together, the iPhone 6 failed the brutal drop test.
After the test it was seen that the S6 edge remained as it was even though it was dropped onto its side from 10 feet. The S6 edge did not receive any damage while on the other hand we saw that the iPhone 6’s sapphire lens which protects its camera was broken.
Then the two smartphones were dropped from waist height and this time they were dropped on their front. Amazingly the S6 edge’s curved glass display did not receive a single scratch but the iPhone 6’s Retina HD display was completely shattered.
Apart from this you will also be surprised to hear that when the two smartphones were dropped from a head height onto its front the S6 edge survived without any major damage.
The S6 edge was only broken when it was dropped from a height of 10 feet. So it seems that the Gorilla Glass 4 used by the Korean giant has worked for its smartphones. However when compared with the S6, the S6 edge is much stronger.
