Samsung already promised that Galaxy S4 will get Android Lollipop (5.0) update in early 2015. To update the Galaxy S4 to latest Android cookie, Samsung already started testing.
The folks at SamMobile got hold of an internal test build of the new Galaxy S4 Android L software. This is not the final build and some of the basic functionalities like WiFi is still not working.
But it is clear from the video that Samsung has done a lot of good progress. Although this is a very early development build, the software is quite fast and is responsive. Samsung is slowly adding it’s additional changes to the Galaxy S4 Android Lollipop. We believe Samsung is going to do a lot of changes on TouchWiz interface.
Samsung Galaxy S4 was released with Android 4.2 and later it got updates for Android 4.3 and 4.4. As this is still in Samsung’s 18 months guaranteed update cycle, the phone will get Android 5 or Lollipop cookie update.
The software is based on earlier Android Lollipop code (LRX02E), instead of the final Lollipop code base (LRX21M) Google dropped three days ago. But we are sure when the final software will be released to end users it will be based on official Google Lollipop code.
Also, there is already a Galaxy S5 Android Lollipop available. You can check the details on this article.
