We have earlier reported that Samsung might launch The On5 and On7 smartphone in India and that proved to be true. Samsung has unveiled the media centric low cost devices into the Indian market with a hope that it will gain some sales momentum in the upcoming holiday season.as far as the devices are concerned, they are quiet familiar to the galaxy s5.

The design of s5 is unmistakable here and the faux leather plastic back makes a return along with a gold colour option. The 5 inch on5 and the 5.5 inch on7 are proving to be the no-frills fantastic devices that could give the Moto G a run for its money.

Samsung has moved to premium glass and metal design in its high end phones and it has no reason to not bring the design aesthetic of the previous generation high end phones that used plastic materials to the present low end devices. The results of that efforts seems to be fruitful. The on5 and on7 have an impressive HD screen and the 1.2 and 1.3 Ghz quad core processor handled the basic tasks well.

The phone might not have all the latest bells and whistles of the flagships. Yet these good enough phones rule the Indian market. India is an important market for Samsung and perhaps the only important market after two years with the Chinese market and U.S. slowly slipping out of hand. It intends to maintain the sales lead it enjoys in the region.

Both the devices come with a music subscription called as mixradio, a reminiscent of nokia’s mixradio with 30 million songs in its catalogue. The phones also have the ultra-data saving mode. An important feature considering the painstaking slow data speeds that are available in India. videos and webpages load faster and consume less data/ these phones are already available in china and are enjoying positive reviews. Let us wait and watch if the on5 and on7 phones increase the lead for Samsung in the Indian market.
