Samsung today unveiled the Galaxy Note 5 at the UNPACKED event in New York, its best phablet till now. The phone is a blend of this year’s Galaxy S6 and the last year’s Galaxy Note 4. It has the same look and feel of a Galaxy Note series, but brings in the new metallic design of the Galaxy S6, making it’s the best Galaxy Note ever.
Galaxy Note 5 sports a 5.7″ QHD Super AMOLED display (518ppi), Exynos 7420 64-bit octa-core processor, 4GB of RAM, 16MP rear-facing camera with OIS, 5MP front-facing camera, 3,000mAh non-removable battery, 32GB and 64GB storage options (no microSD), microUSB port, and “fast wireless charging,” with Android 5.1.1 running underneath TouchWiz UI.
We were expecting that Samsung will bring back the microSD card and removable battery features on Note 5,. The lack of these will definitely make some Samsung fans disappointed.
Like its predecessors, Galaxy Note 5 brings in the S Pen and it is located on the lower right corner of the phone. Samsung claims that the new S Pen is more advanced and has better pressure sensitivity then the older models.
Samsung made a smart move by releasing the superior Galaxy Note 5 ahead of Apple’s iPhone release. This will definitely give Samsung early to market advantage over the Apple iPhone 6S.
The phone will arrive to a carrier of your choice on August 21 and will be priced similar as the prior Galaxy Note phones.
