It is almost official now that Samsung will announce many new gadgets and products at MWC this year. This time the event will be bigger and it will be better.
While we are waiting for the official events to start, let’s check what Samsung may announce at the UNPACKED event at Mobile World Congress at Barcelona.
Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge
This is the biggest announcement we all are waiting for. Like last year, Samsung will announce not one but two flagship models, the Galaxy S7 and curved screen Galaxy S7 Edge.
Both these phones are leaked numerous occasions and it feels like we are almost sure what Samsung will announce.
Galaxy S7 will sport a 5.1-inch Quad-HD display. Rumors also suggest that the screen will have the Always On feature.
Along with that the phone will have 3,000 mAh battery, which will be non-removable.
Samsung will bring back the water-resistance feature to Galaxy S7. Galaxy S5 had that feature, but for some reason Samsung did not put the water-protection in Galaxy S6. But Galaxy S7 will have IP67 water-protection.
Other noticeable specs include Snapdragon 820 SoC (there will be Exynos variant also), 4 GB of RAM, 12 MP featuring a 1/2.5-inch sensor with an individual pixel size of at least 1.4-microns.
If this does not make you happy, Samsung may bring back expandable storage to Galaxy S7.
Galaxy S7 Edge will also have similar specs, but the phone will sport a curved display. Also the battery on Galaxy S7 Edge is bigger (3,600 mAh).
If you are wondering how the phones look like, check our earlier leaks.
Gear 360 – The Virtual Reality Camera
Though all are super exited about the Galaxy S7 flagships, but we are almost sure that Samsung is bringing this bad boy to UNPACKED event. The Gear 360 is a compact spherical camera capable of capturing 360 degree imagery using two 180 degree fisheye lenses.
You can connect the Gear 360 through Bluetooth and record videos using the dedicated app.
This camera will support HDR (High Dynamic Range), exposure control, white balance and ISO settings, a Liveview option.
Samsung Pay – Going Global
Samsung Pay is the best mobile payment solution till now. While competitors like Apple Pay uses their own dedicated device for mobile payment, Samsung Pay just works with any credit card reader. This is awesome, as retailers do not need to buy separate hardware to support Samsung Pay.
Samsung already successfully tested its offering in South Korea and US. We are pretty sure Samsung will make big announcement about Samsung Pay ay MWC this year.
Most likely Samsung Pay is going to launch in many countries, including Russia, China and India.
IOFIT Smart Shoe fro Athletes
IOFIT is a smart shoe for athletes who want to know everything about their performance, feet movement, balance, etc. The shoe marketed heavily at those who do competitive weightlifting and cardio-based activities, owing to the companion application’s ‘coaching’ mode, which enables you to receive feedback on individual exercises as you do them.
