New bits of information are floating around the internet regarding the advance display that the s7 will boast of that will have a 2k resolution and apple’s 3d touch like touch interface. But the hidden information among them is that the galaxy S7 might start with 64 GB of internal memory instead of the usual 32 GB.
Samsung has done away with the 16 GB memory capacities for its flagship models owing to the fact that premium price demands premium features. The other reason is that Samsung went the apple way and removed the expandable storage slot in their 2015 flagship devices. Flagship handset owners would be locked at a paltry 16 GB of memory with no way to increases the capacity.
Apple, for the fact, still squeezes the customers for every last bit of their money while still providing the same insufficient 16 GB memory on the base model that costs around $650. That’s a premium price. Apple justifies its tactics saying that it is offering cloud storage and user will not need the physical memory anymore. Imagine a couple of minutes of video in 4k resolution will snagging up 1GB of memory on your phone.
To counter this issues, Samsung is rumoured to start its phone line-up next year with 64 GB memory capacity and the expandable storage might be a good addition but is unlikely to add. The other model will be available with 128 GB of memory. Other features include a pressure touch display and 4 GB of RAM. The battery capacity might get a boost and the same fast charging technologies in note 5 are likely to be added. The edge version will also be available in the 5.7-inch version and the galaxy s7 will have the same 5.2-inch screen size but improved in other aspects. The cpu will be the snapdragon 820 or Samsung’s own exynos processor.
