We are already month away from the release of the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus. The devices have made perfect release so far and have successfully brought Samsung back on feet. Today, we heard rumors that the company has started to develop their next big device. This might be the successor of the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus coming in question, the Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus.
According to a report from The Bell, the company have already started using the codenames Star and Star 2 for the Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus devices. This reminds us of the codenames for the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus. The Galaxy S8 was Project Dream, while the S8 Plus was Cruiser.
Also, the codenames often imply characteristics. For example, the “Dream” for the Galaxy S8 was to be more successful than Apple. The “Cruiser” though, was probably meant to symbolize the ruggedness of the upcoming Galaxy S8 Active. Also, the report from The Bell says that the Galaxy S9 will not have foldable display. The display specs of the S9 could probably be the same as the Galaxy S8’s.
The source also suggests that all of the future smartphones from Samsung could feature dual rear cameras system. The fingerprint sensor is also included in the future setup of the devices. These rumors are also plausible for the Galaxy Note 8, which is also expected to be launched in fall this year.
The production of the Galaxy S9 is expected to begin somewhere in the late days of this year. Also, it will take more time for the upcoming devices to be tested, so we will see how Samsung will make their launches in this year.
