The Gear S3 are cross-platform devices that allow usage by non-Samsung, Android-powered smartphones, and now finally for iOS devices. This is a first time that both users from Samsung and iPhone are buying same smartwatch. Samsung have also released a compatibility list that shows users what can they expect and what can disappoint them.
In the compatibility list we can see that those users that have non-Samsung device, will not have full feature functionality unlocked on their smartwatch. They can also expect to have limited usage on some of the features of the device.
For the iPhone users, they will have limited messaging, apps, S Health, and watch face with Bluetooth-connected. There are still few standalone features when the Gear S3 is paired with the iPhone.
Samsung users meanwhile, will of course have full functionality of their paired Gear S3 device. Their point is for everyone to buy a Galaxy device and use it with the smartwatch. But, this time they show up some flexible thoughts and maybe changing their objectives.
The Samsung’s Gear S3 is a third-generation smartwatch from the Samsung Gear family. It all began back in 2014, with the release of Samsung Gear, Gear 2, and Gear 2 Neo in late 2013 – early 2014.
