The Samsung’s new Galaxy S6 is equipped with an ultra-fast hardware, and an optimized and improved version of TouchWiz UI on the software end that is being accompanied by Android Lollipop. One of the major features included in the new Galaxy S6, and Galaxy S6 edge, is an all-new Theme Engine. However, owners of Samsung’s older smartphones won’t be able to have access to this Theme engine, officially.
The new Theme Engine, unlike most of the launchers on the Play Store, customizes not only icon packs, but customizes the core look and feel of the device from Settings app to Notification dropdown menu. The theme engine also customizes the look and feel of some basic apps, such as Dialer, and the Messaging app.
Anyhow, we have surprisingly good news for you if you are an owner of a Galaxy Note 4, a Galaxy S5, or a Galaxy S4, you might want to have it included in your device to personalize the look and feel of the device. You can install the Theme Engine on your Galaxy Note 4, S5, or S4 by rooting it, on the cost of voiding your warranty and the risk of bricking your device.
The Theme engine, included on the S6, and S6 edge, has been ported for Note 4, S5 and S4, by some developers over at XDA forums. Many users have tested it on their devices and are amazed by the new Theme Engine on their older devices. If you are an owner of a rooted Galaxy Note 4, S5, or S4, you might want to head over at XDA forums for downloading and installing the Theme Engine for your device, along with installation instructions.
Officially, the Theme Engine is exclusive to the Galaxy S6 and S6 edge for now. However, Samsung might include the Theme Engine in the upcoming OS updates for these devices.
