The AT&T carrier has started its Samsung Galaxy S4 Lollipop update marking the first such upgrade to hit the United States. However the Galaxy S5 Lollipop update will still take some time.
Samsung had started to roll out its Galaxy S4 Lollipop upgrade in late January and the update had come as a surprise to many as it outpaced the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 update.
The Samsung Galaxy S4 Lollipop update will start in the United States from today and will be rolling out on the AT&T carrier. The carrier has also confirmed this and stated that the update will start rolling out to users today.
The update for the S4 is quite big nearly 1GB in size and this basically requires the carrier’s users to download it over the Wi-Fi connection. Apart from this the process of downloading the update can easily take about an hour to complete.
The Lollipop update for the S4 will provide users with quite new changes such as the Material Design, battery saving features and the removal of Code Scanner, Softcard and Browser Bar applications. This update is the biggest one for the S4 since the arrival of Android 4.4 KitKat last year.
Moreover the carrier has also stated that the Lollipop update for the Galaxy S5 will take several weeks before it hits the Galaxy S5.
The S5 is the last major variant left in Samsung’s Galaxy Android 5.0 Lollipop roll out. AT&T is also the first carrier to issue a Galaxy S$ Lollipop update in the US.
The other carriers may still take some more weeks before they roll out the Samsung Galaxy S4 Android Lollipop update. The rolling out of the Lollipop update for the S4 has been quite slow but now it looks as if it is gaining pace. Surely the update for the Galaxy S4 will soon reach all its users.
