Samsung is going to incorporate wireless charging on Galaxy S6 and to make things better the new Samsung flagship will support most of the current wireless charging standards.
Right now wireless charging technology is developed by various standardization groups, including Wireless Power Consortium (WPC, and its Qi standard), the Power Matters Alliance (PMA) and the Alliance for Wireless Power (A4WP).
To make sure users can charge their phone using any custom wireless power charger, Samsung is going to use a new chip which supports all wireless charging standards.
Samsung on a new post on its official blog said
“Last year, components that support multiple standards on a single chip were released. Given that it usually takes around 6 to12 months to integrate new components and put them on the market, it is expected that several of these products will be available to consumers this year”
Samsung will accelerate to democratize this wireless charging technology with compelling smartphones. With our upcoming Galaxy smartphones, users will be able to enter a new wireless world like never before.”
Samsung did not say specifically anything on Galax S6, but the timing of the new update from the company is a strong indication that Galaxy S6 could be the first device to get multiple wireless charging technology.
