It’s just been a month that the Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 edge were released but it looks as if Samsung is already planning for the future.
According to sources, Samsung display is preparing itself for the next member of the Galaxy family, the Samsung Galaxy S7, which is said to come out in the market in the first quarter of 2016.
Moreover Samsung has stated that it will require around 8 million display panels a month for the upcoming Galaxy S7 once the production of the smartphone begins.
That is why the Samsung’s display department has already begun to expand one of its largest factories. Plus the company will be switching its manufacturing process from glass to polyimide.
Polyimide is basically a widely used substance for the production of flexible OLED displays. However it is not easy to work with this material and Samsung is yet to find a way to meet the demand.
Moreover apart from the Galaxy S7, Samsung is also planning to use polyimide display in the upcoming Galaxy Note 5.
