This tutorial will help you to install CyanogenMod 12 on your Samsung Galaxy S5. CyanogenMod 12 is based Android 5.0 Lollipop and can only be installed on a rooted Galaxy S5

The CyanogenMod 12 still has many issues and this is not the final software. But this process will work with the final CM release as well.

Also note that the build is only for Galaxy S5 (SMG900F) variants only, which is the Snapdragon version.

To start the process you need to download the CyanogenMod 12 compiled build to your phone memory or to the phone SD card.

Known issues with CyanogenMod 12 for Galaxy S5 ROM

  • Stock CM camera is buggy
  • Touchscreen has issues
  • Many CM features are still missing
  • GPS icon does not go away

Though this is not the official CyanogenMod ROM, the build is prepared by compiling the CM source code. CM team is working to release a nightly build.
