Samsung Z1 with model number SM-Z130H/DS is going to be announced for the Indian market on December 10, latest rumor suggests. Samsung Z1 will be the successor of the first Tizen powered smartphone, the Samsung Z.
Samsung started working on Tizen in 2013, but the company failed to release many smartphones based on the mobile operating system. Though the company recently released Gear S smartwatch powered by Tizen OS. Tizen is developed to be used in a variety of devices, including smartphones, smartwatches, digital cameras and even on smart TVs.
“According to industry sources in Korea, Samsung Electronics will hold a press conference in India on 10 December 2014 to introduce the Samsung Z1. Cheap Tizen smartphone is scheduled to be sold at a price not more than $100”
India is Samsung’s one of the biggest market. In India budget phones take a bigger chunk of market share. Releasing a low-end device with lots of features will definitely help Samsung.
Samsung Z1 is rumored to have 4 inch WVGA display, 1.2 GHz dualcore processor, 512 MB Ram, 3.2 megapixel rear camera and a VGA front camera. There wont be any LTE on this, but just 3G connectivity. The phone will also have Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and FM Radio.
