According to a recent report, Samsung Electronics Co. and LG Electronics will be supplying the displays for the Apple’s next smartwatch.

LG has been supplying Apple with its display technology for Apple’s first smartwatch, which was released in April. This is because LG is the only vendor of organic light-emitting diode display, which Apple decided to integrate in its smartwatch.

However, Apple has also decided to add Samsung to its supplier of OLED parts to integrate in its next smartwatch, recently.

As we have also seen earlier, it has been Apple’s strategy to contract multiple vendors of electronic parts for their products. For this reason, Apple has contracted Samsung for the development of flexible OLED displays for their upcoming next generation smartwatch. Apple has chosen Samsung to supply the flexible OLED displays, as it is the only vendor to manufacture OLED displays, other than LG.

The Apple’s first smartwatch which featured organic light-emitting diode display, and various colorful straps, was highly admired by the users. However, the Apple Watch was unable to produce the expected results for Apple, in term of sales.
