Samsung found the much needed success in the wearable device segment with the launch of The Gear S2 smartwatch. Now there are leaks suggesting that this smartwatch will eventually be able to work with an iPhone. As of now. The gear s2 smartwatch works with all the android devices and can make calls, receive and send texts and mails, it also shows news feed. Some advance apps from Hyundai and Volkswagen allow you to unlock and start your car without the key.
Now Samsung want to dominate the iOS enabled iPhone with this smartwatch. Apple has its own version of the wearable device in form of apple watch. A recent study shows us that about 41% of apple watch buyers are unhappy with the device and would like to purchase the second generation of apple watch. Apple is also on the verge of releasing the apple watch 2. Samsung has a unique opportunity to cut in the sales of apple watch if it could make the gear s2 smartwatch work productively with the iPhone.
To do so, Samsung will release the gear manager app for the iOS devices. It is yet unclear to what extent will the gear s2 smartwatch be able to access the contents of the iPhone and whether it can make a phone call and send a text message or will it be limited to receiving notifications and act as a fitness wearable.
It could also be that Samsung is working on an exclusive device that is very similar to the gear s2 but will be built solely for the iPhone. The gear s2 runs the tizen os instead of android wear and works with all the android smartphones although the experience is best suited with a galaxy device.
If executed in a proper order, this beautiful smartwatch could be a worthy competitor for the apple watch.
