Galaxy S5 is Hard to Repair Compared to Galaxy S4

s5 teardown ifixit Galaxy S5 is Hard to Repair Compared to Galaxy S4

Samsung Galaxy S5 is not the device if you are looking to fix-it-yourself broken stuffs. The team at iFixit tried to open up the device but guess what it was hell of a device to tear-down.

Apart from the battery, which is just below the back cover, all of its component lies beneath the phone display. It’s not that it’s hard to replace components once the phone is opened up – the problem arises due to the display, which must be taken out before you can get to the internals.

Once the display is removed the repairing can take less effort, but it also makes things complicated as the display has been held in with a “significant amount of adhesive and requires very careful and persistent prying and a considerable amount of heat to remove without cracking the glass or cutting cables.”

Galaxy S5 scored only 5 out of 10 in iFixit teardown test which is considered “hard to repair”. In compared to Galaxy S5, the Galaxy S4 is much easy to repair and scored 8 out of 10 in last year tear-down test.
