After Samsung released its new Galaxy S6 and S6 edge at the Mobile World Congress analysts have been busy estimating how these smartphones will perform this year. The forecast began at 38 million and then a Citibank analyst pushed this figure up to 46 million.
Now the figure has again been pushed up by 20 percent and takes the figure to a total of 55 million units of the Galaxy S6 and S6 edge being sold this year.
Both these new flagship smartphones by Samsung will go on sale in April and in that first quarter of availability they are expected to reach 22.2 million sales. Moreover the South Korean company had also revealed that carriers had already pre-ordered 20 million units of these new smartphones.
Samsung plans on to sell 16.2 million and 12.5 million units in the following quarters respectively. However by that time Samsung’s competitors will have launched their smartphones too such as the HTC One M9 will be up for sale from tomorrow. Apart from this the LG G4 will be launched soon as well.
