Gear S2 Smartwatch Battery Life Increased with The Latest Update

Samsung is pushing an update for the excellent gear S2 and the main priority seems to be the improvement in the battery. We cannot say the percentage improvement in the battery life of the gear S2 smartwatch but any incremental change is welcome given the fact that it has a battery life of about 2 hours with an always on screen.

The gear S2 is an excellent smartwatch that has an intuitive interface with a rotating bezel and actually look pretty amazing in the real life. This smartwatch was applauded as the one of the few devices that can give the apple watch strong competition in usability as well as looks.

The current update has the version number as R730TUVU1AOL3 and weighs in less than 5 MB. You will need a smartphone with the gear S2 app installed before you can update the smartwatch.

The gear S2 smartwatch runs on a specialized version of tizen os since Samsung ditched Google’s android wear and will work with all android smartphone running 4.4 or later. There was a rumour circulating that the support for the iPhone is in works and will come out soon. But we believe that a separate iOS version of the smartwatch is in works and will reveal itself soon.
