Verizon gets creative to get all remaining Note 7s

VerizonThe largest mobile carrier in the United States, Verizon, reported that there are still thousands of Galaxy Note 7 users remaining. This is happening even though Samsung made it very difficult to use the device. First step from Samsung was disabling the connectivity for the device. Verizon was against it at first, but couple of weeks ago, they rolled out the update as well. However, thousands of the Note 7 users were able to somehow avoid the doomed update and continue to use the device.

Now, Verizon put those remaining Galaxy Note 7 units in a special category. The carrier will automatically reroute all outgoing calls (except 911) to its customer service representative. They will then urge them to return the device. Also, they announced that they will possibly bill the holdouts for the full retail cost of the Galaxy Note 7.

“In spite of our best efforts, there are still customers using the recalled phones who have not returned or exchanged their Note 7 to the point of purchase. The recalled Note 7s pose a safety risk to our customers and those around them”. Said a spokeswoman for an interview for Fortune.

On 23rd of January, Samsung will make the results of the Galaxy Note 7 investigation public. It will be interesting!
