Samsung and Microsoft Are Joining forces for IoT

Samsung is a reckoning force in the smartphone world. even apple has to depend on Samsung to make its products such as the iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch. Microsoft is another tech titan that reigns supremacy in the desktop operating space and office suite applications.

Both these companies shared the stage during the samsung press conference in the CES 2016 and announced a partnership deal where the focus would be on internet of things (IoT) and how windows 10 could enhance the lives of common consumers.

On the eve of introduction of windows 10 powered TabPRO S, executive vice president of Microsoft’s Windows and Devices Group, terry Myerson made an appearance and talked about the exciting possibilities of future as a result of joining forces.

He mentioned that the windows 10 core services could help IoT and has the capabilities to power every appliance that a smart home will use. He showed the power of Cortana, windows 10 digital assistance, that could clean the dishes and wash the cloths with a simple command.

“With Samsung, we’re excited to have this shared vision of millions and millions of devices and things communicating using open protocols and open standards, creating opportunity for software developers, device manufacturers and rising-star makers around the world,” Myerson said during the Samsung keynote.

The TabPRO S is itself a clone of the surface pro 4 from Microsoft and Redmond based company is encouraging anyone who cares to listen to use the windows 10 and its services. It has recently inked deals with various manufacturers to include Microsoft apps such as office and skype in their handset to penetrate the android world where google is the king.

With technological advancement and the power of windows 10, Microsoft and Samsung aims to build the home of the future. But that is still a distance dream and they both have much work to do before it can happen.
