Samsung rumored to stop utilizing fingerprint scanners

Thus far, Samsung has made up plenty new smartphones that featured fingerprint sensors. But, a new rumor says that the company may say farewell to the fingerprint scanner. The source of the rumor comes from a Samsung’s employee, as it says, but there is no way that we can be sure of it.

The first device that featured fingerprint scanner that Samsung produced was the Galaxy S5. Today, in 2017, the fingerprint scanners are the most common thing in the smartphones. The upcoming devices, Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus are also going to support fingerprint scanning, even though the sensors will be placed at the back of the devices. If this rumor though comes out to be true, the facial recognition tech might be the next thing replacing the fingerprint sensors.

Also, if all of this is true, Samsung may get rid of the fingerprint sensors in this year, or in the early 2018. Thus, we still have to test how the facial recognition tech will work out, for now with the S8 and S8 Plus. Is that tech more advanced than this one, and will it bring more security to your devices? So far, we have to wait until March 29, when the S8 and S8 Plus will be unveiled, and some weeks after that when they are said to be released. The S8 and S8 Plus will be first devices to be tested with the facial recognition technology.
